From 27-30 September a Transnational Fair was organised in Pembrokeshire, West Wales on the theme of Developing and Marketing European Festivals and Events.
The Fair was funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and LEADER+ Transnational via the Wales European Funding Office.

Its aims being to:

• bring together LEADER+ and similar groups who have identified the development of festivals and events as a key area of their activity
  
• share experiences between groups around the issue of planning, developing and supporting festivals and events
  
• assist the establishment of partnerships between organisations wishing to develop festivals and events around similar themes e.g. maritime, walking, arts, local products, etc
  
• explore the possibility of developing a pan-European web-based marketing initiative for festivals and events.

The event was hosted by PLANED (Pembrokeshire Local Action Network for Enterprise and Development) which has many years experience as a community-led rural development initiative.
